For your wedding album to be a fantastic storybook, you must arrange all the selected pictures in order. So, in what order do you put your favorite wedding photographs in a wedding album?
Generally, there are many different ways to put pictures in a wedding album. Some people like to put their favorite pictures first, while others like to put them last. But the most common way is to start from the beginning and work your way through the day.

However, several people prefer arranging the images in chronological order (the order in which they were clicked). Yet, it is not easy to decide or tell what specific order to put the pictures in the album because the preference or desired designs of couples vary.
Aside from the couples’ desires, the number of pages will also play a key role in how you put the pictures in a wedding album. However, here are some tips and tricks that you can use to help you decide on which order to put them.
Start With The Pre-engagement Or Wedding Pictures:
Your pre-wedding photographs are also part of the official wedding pictures and should be printed on the book’s cover. So, we recommend starting with your pre-wedding clicks because they were the first set of clicked images of your and your spouse.
Perhaps, you do not want any pictures on the cover; then you might want to arrange the pre-wedding photos on the first spread or page of the album because the first page of a wedding album is the most important. It sets the tone for the rest of the album.
Therefore, the first photograph should be an emotional click that reveals your excitement or the wedding mood. Aside from your pre-wedding shots, you can use a picture of you and your partner walking down the aisle or having your first kiss.

Put Your Makeup Session Pictures On The First Set Of Spreads:
Next, put all your favorite pictures clicked during your makeup and dressing up session on the first set of the album spreads or pages. There is no particular order in which you must arrange the photos but ensure all related clicks share a page or spread. This will make the storyline of the album interesting and easy to understand.
You might want to put together related dressing-up pictures of the groom and bride or on distinct pages. Whichever pattern you choose, ensure it does obstruct the flow of your wedding story. Furthermore, we also recommend adding pictures of the makeup kits, your wedding shoes, dresses, and other wedding-related accessories alongside the session photos on the first group of spreads.
Put Pictures Of The Ceremony
Furthermore, put pictures of the ceremony on the next pages of the wedding album. This will include photographs of the procession, the music band, the moments the couples exchange vows and rings, the first (official) kiss, the signing of the wedding certificates and register, the first dance, and others according to how they were clicked.
Note: The number of related pictures to put on each spread will depend solely on the overall pages of the album and the total number of images you have selected to be put in your wedding album.
Put Pictures From The Reception
The reception is usually the fun part of a wedding. Thus, it presents a lot of picture opportunities. Photographs usually clicked during the reception include the cutting of the wedding cake, speech by the best man, single ladies assembled for bouquet flower throwing, single men assembled for garter throwing, bridal waltz, and a host of other events.
After selecting your favorite reception session pictures, you put them in the wedding album as you wish. To make your album even more fun, you might want to divide the spreads into chapters, with each chapter bearing a name.
For instance, you can label chapter three (3) as reception, and it will include all photos documented during the session. This way, putting the clicked memories in a specific order will not be necessary.
Note: Do not forget to include images of the food, reception table, lighting, and other decorations.
Put The Wedding Guest Pictures
After putting your introduction, makeup session, ceremony, and reception shots, you must now put photos of your guests. You might start with clicks taken with you and your partner’s parents, the officiating ministers, and anyone else. You may also want to include some posed photos with family members or relatives.
Put Photographs Of Other Items
We recommend putting more than just photos from our wedding day in the album. You might want to get creative with it by adding pictures of wedding invitation cards, love letters, cakes, mementos, and other related items.
