The Fujifilm X100V was announced by the company on the 4th of February, 2020. It supersedes the X100F. Unlike its predecessors, the X100v features a redesigned prime wide-angle lens and a fourth-generation X-Trans CMOS sensor. The X100V fixed prime lens camera also sports an improved hybrid viewfinder, additional film simulation modes (17), and creative color effects.
The camera can also record high-resolution videos at 4K, its native ISO from 100-12800, and continuous shooting at approximately 11fps with the mechanical shutter makes it suitable for shooting different subjects and scenes. Furthermore, the X100V features in-built Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functions which allow wireless transfer of images to any compatible smart device and remote control of the gadget from a tablet or smartphone.

Key Features And Extra
An Effective 26.1MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS 4 With Primary Color Filter Sensor And Quad-core X-Processor 4
The Fujifilm exceptional 26.1-megapixel sensor uses a back-illuminated design to maximize still and movie qualities. The sensor’s unique primary color filter controls grains and false colors without the need for an optical low-pass filter (OLPD).
The X-Processor 4, which has a quad-core CPU, works with the sensor to deliver high-resolution and well-detailed images and videos and empowers the camera’s overall speed and autofocus performance, as well as other operations.
Intelligent Hybrid Phase Detection System And Focus Limiter Function
The X100v features an enhanced face and eye detection autofocus system. The intelligent hybrid phase detection pixels are spread across the image sensor and combined with the robust X-processor and a new algorithm that improves the camera’s overall AF performance on fast-moving or erratic subjects moving within the frame.
Simply put, this empowers the camera to track subjects with utmost accuracy and speed. The Focus Limiter Function (FLF) allows users to set the X10OV lens to a specific range of distance to allow for faster tracking and autofocus performance. This is particularly useful when photographing stationary objects at a high AF performance.
17 Digital Film Simulations And Creative Color Effects
Furthermore, the Fujifilm X100V has several film simulations, such as PROVIA, Velvia, Astia, ACROS, and Eterna, which allow photographers to get brilliant and stunning results straight out of the camera.
The color chrome effect adds extra contrast and saturation to colors in an image, while the grain effect allows users to add natural film grain to any click photos. These impressive effects, combined with the unique several film simulations, add extra texture and creativity to photos.
An Improved Fujinon 23mm f/2 Lens
Unlike other Fujifilm X100 series, the X100V bears a new 23mm F2.0 lens, which has been enhanced to render images and videos with better resolution, lower distortion, and improved focus performance. The lens’s 23mm focal length is equivalent to 35mm. However, it is still compatible with optional WCL and TCL attachment lenses, giving users room to reduce or expand the effect field of view.

High-quality Images And Videos
Regarding video and image quality, the X100V offers photographers the chance to record high-resolution, color-rich, and cinematic 4K videos at approximately 30 frames per second and Full HD (1080p) at 120 frames per second.
Practically, the camera renders beautiful and impressive stills and movies, even in low light, because of the powerful image sensor and processing engine.
Low Light Performance
Pragmatically, the camera is great in low light. The quad-core X-Processor 4 ensures images are quickly and smoothly processed with minimal digital noise. It also improves the X100V AF performance through a newly designed focusing algorithm. This allows the device to operate as low as -5EV efficiently.
Body Build And Handling
The Fujifilm X100V satin-coated body weighs approximately 428g and 478g (with battery and SD card). The body features top and bottom plates milled from single pieces of aluminum. Thus, the camera is durable, stylish, and portable. You can choose to make the durable design weather-resistant by pairing the camera with the AR-X100 Adapter Ring and optional weather-sealing ring.
Regarding controls, the top plate features an array of different dials and levers for ease of access and operation. You will find buttons for exposure settings and shutter speed adjustments dial. The ISO dial is also integrated into the shutter speed dial.
Viewfinder And Display
The camera features both advanced hybrid optical and electronic viewfinders. The 0.5 inches approx. 3.69 million dots OLED Color Viewfinder offers approximately 100% frame coverage. This allows users to preview exposure settings before shooting.
The OVF offers app. 95% frame coverage. However, it gives the photographer an exact and uninterrupted raw view of the scene for easier composition and subject tracking.
Furthermore, the X100V sports a 3.0 inch approx. 1.62 million dots two-way tilting touch screen color LCD monitor with 100% frame coverage. This provides intuitive touch controls and ease of use.

Battery Capacity
Unlike other X100 models, the X100V featured an improved battery. It can now click approximately 350 and 420 stills per charge when using the EVF or OVF. When shooting movies, it will record 4K at about 45min. (29.97p) and Full HD at approx. 50min. (59.94p) in actual video capture mode and approx. 55min 4K and 75min Full HD videos in Continuance movie capture before shutting off.
Speed Performance
Fujifilm specifically designed the X100V for speed and quality. It can click approximately 11 frames per second in burst mode. The camera can also achieve focus and image processing at a lightning-fast speed.
